Sorting Objects that are Shorter than or Longer than a Spoon

Label two pieces of paper with the words LONGER AND SHORTER.  Have students find and measure objects to sort in each of the categories.  Remind students how to measure accurately by lining up the spoon with the end of the object they are measuring.  Find at least 5 objects that are longer and 5 objects that are shorter.  Extension: Draw the objects found on paper.
